Morgenstern was the artistic director of the Perspektywa film studio. He was a recognized producer, he received amongst others a Golden Lions award at the Polish Feature Film Festival in Gdynia in 2005 for the film Komornik (Collector), which was directed by Feliks Falk.

Komornik is the Polish for "tenant farmer". The Jewish surname is also associated with Komar, the Slavic word for "gnat/mosquito" and the localities of Komarov, Bohemia, Komarovo, Russia, and Komarovka, Ukraine. In the 20th century Komornik is recorded as a Jewish family name with the Yugoslav soldier Sigmund Komornik who was captured by the Germans during World War II.

Lucjan Bohme is a ruthless debt collector working in a post-industrial Silesian town. In the land of unemployment and misery, he's got a lot of work and no mercy at all. Until something happens.

On the eve of Christmas Eve, a man, an alcoholic, a wealthy president of the company, wishes his employees, ex-wife, son and current partner. Each meeting is an excuse to reach for another glass. The only escape from the addiction is the trip to the mother's Christmas Eve.

At the 30th Polish Feature Film Festival in 2005, the Komornik won the Golden Lions for the best film. The prizes were also awarded for:

script (for Grzegorz Łoszewski)
the leading male role (for Andrzej Chyra)
a supporting female role (for Kinga Preis)
photos (for Bartek Prokopowicz)


In 2006, the film turned out to be the undisputed winner of the Polish Film Awards - he won seven Eagles for:

the best movie
best directing (for Feliks Falk)
the best main male role (for Andrzej Chyra)
the best main female role (for Kinga Preis)
the best script (for Grzegorz Łoszewski)
the best set design (for Anna Wunderlich)
and the audience award.

The film also won an ecumenical jury prize at the International Film Festival in Berlin.
